The Top 5 Occasions Which You Should Always Pack a First Aid Kit For

Summer is upon us at last, and as the school summer holidays draw ever closer, most of us will be planning holidays, camping trips as well as many other fun outdoor activities which will allow us to have fun in the sun.  However, it's always important to remember that things can take a bad turn very quickly in the summer, and it is a popular time of year for accidents.  Don't get caught out this summer and make sure you always have a first aid kit to hand.  We take a look at the top 5 occasions where a first aid kit will always be useful.

Festivals

No matter what festival you're heading to, the crowds of bodies, endless tent poles and, of course, the combination of alcohol can all lead to unpredictable accidents.  Having a first aid kit to hand is ideal for making sure that you can deal with these accidents and keep them clean, which is a difficult task in a dirty festival environment.  A first aid kit should be at the top of your festival pack list.

Holidays

When you're abroad, it can be difficult to get hold of a first aid kit, especially if you struggle with the language.  They may not have the same supplies which you'd be used to at home, so it's always safer to take your own first aid kit with you.  It's better to put the liquid elements of your first aid kit in your hold luggage to avoid losing it at airport security.

Trips to the Park/Beach

A trip to the beach or park is a great way to soak up the sun, but it can also be a place for plenty of unexpected accidents as well as of course, insect bites.  Making sure that you pack a first aid kit with plenty of antiseptic, antihistamines and insect repellent/sting relief will give you the best chance of avoiding tears and stop bites from becoming swollen and uncomfortable.

First aid kits are useful to carry with you no matter where you go – always keep one in the car so that you're always covered for those unexpected emergencies.  For all of your first aid kit needs, click here to see Safety First Aid's complete range of products.
